Implant Sciences gets CE marking in EU

WAKEFIELD, Mass., April 28 (UPI) -- Implant Sciences Corp. says its portable explosives detector technology has been certified as compliant for a European Union CE marking.

Massachusetts-based Implant Sciences says its trademarked Quantum Sniffer QS-H150 portable explosives detector has been certified with a CE marking by an independent testing lab. With the CE marking compliance, Implant Sciences will now be able to market, sell and export the Quantum Sniffer to the EU.

Implant Sciences says its Quantum Sniffer is capable of detecting, in real time, explosives particulates and vapors with or without physical contact.

"CE marking for our H150 explosives detector is an important milestone which should extend our reach into countries recognizing or requiring the CE marking for products," Phillip Thomas, Implant Sciences president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. "We believe there could be significant demand for our security products in the European market, which has been relatively untapped by us until CE compliance could be obtained."
