SALT LAKE CITY, April 25 (UPI) -- U.S. company Raytheon's Oakley Systems will combine some of its prime functions with McAfee ePolicy Integrator.

Oakley Systems Inc., which Raytheon described as its "leader in insider threat protection," is going to combine its user activity monitoring, investigation and forensics operations with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, a company that specializes in security and compliance risk management solution, Raytheon said in a statement last week.

Raytheon Oakley and McAfee Security Innovation Alliance will work together to boost progress on their products, especially for government customers.

"This partnership is exciting for our mutual federal and enterprise customers who will now have an accelerated path to true interoperability between our insider threat protection platform and McAfee security solutions," said Derek Smith, president of Raytheon Oakley Systems.

"This simplifies deployment into complex environments and meets our common vision of not just providing point products, but powerful integrated solutions that prevent threats, lower risk over time and demonstrate compliance," Smith said.

Raytheon described Oakley Systems' SureView and InnerView as "comprehensive insider threat protection solutions" to discover, deter and solve insider policy violations. The company said its SureView and InnerView platforms could maintain watch across any organization's desktops and network, as well as its mobile and offline operators, and access encrypted web traffic, e-mail and attachments.

Raytheon said SureView and InnerView gave DVR-style incident replay, giving any company the option of acting specifically on acceptable use violations and giving forensic capabilities for fraud, theft and other probes.

Under the new partnership Raytheon Oakley will utilize McAfee's software development kit and application programming interfaces combined with McAfee's with ePO, the statement said.

"McAfee is pleased to work with Raytheon Oakley on this alliance and interoperability," said Joe Gottlieb, vice president of corporate strategy and technology alliances at McAfee. "The Security Innovation Alliance provides an efficient way for our partners to validate compatibility with McAfee security risk management solutions."
