SRA to support Homeland Security Dept.

FAIRFAX, Va., Oct. 18 (UPI) -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced it has contracted Virginia-based SRA International Inc. for programmatic and technical support.

SRA is a technology and strategic consulting services provider to the national security, civil government, healthcare and public health markets. The company was awarded the competitive contract by the DHS for $24.7 million over five years if all options are exercised.

Under the deal, SRA will provide programmatic and technical support to the Sector Specific Agency Executive Management Office. SRA will also provide program management, metrics development, risk management and technical writing for SSA EMO initiatives.

The federal government's vision for security of the nuclear, chemical, dams, commercial facilities and emergency services sectors falls under the critical infrastructure protection programs developed, coordinated and implemented by the SSA EMO.

"Our team will draw upon its years of experience with the Department of Homeland Security to support the SSA EMO in protecting the nation's critical infrastructure," said SRA President and Chief Executive Officer Stan Sloane, in a statement. "We're pleased to have the opportunity to help this customer achieve their important mission."
