Trial opens for al Qaida suspect

HAMBURG, Germany, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- The trial of a Moroccan man accused of aiding the Sept. 11 terrorist attack in the United States opened Tuesday with more than 160 witnesses due to testify in a case expected to last several months. Mounir el Motassadeq, 28, allegedly provided support and funneled money to al Qaida's Hamburg network, led by Mohammed Atta, the hijacker who flew the first plane into the World Trade Center.
