Brazilian oil company fined for spill

RIO DE JANEIRO, May 15 (UPI) -- Brazilian oil company Petrobras was fine $8 million, or 20 million reals, Wednesday for an oil spill off the coast of the Rio de Janeiro state the previous day. An estimated 4,200 gallons, or 16,000 liters, of oil spilled Tuesday between the coastal town of Angra dos Reis and Ilha Grande, a popular resort island and federally protected ecological reserve.
