WASHINGTON, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg may sell his financial information company Bloomberg L.P. and create a foundation, the New York Post reports.
The company is estimated to be worth about $10 billion.

In a speech last November, Bloomberg said he would not return to running the company after his tenure as mayor, and that he would like to sell the company to fund a foundation.
Bloomberg also said he admired the philanthropy of Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife Melinda Gates.
If Bloomberg wins the mayoral election Nov. 8, the sale probably won't happen for a few more years, the Post said.
