Mortgage rates rise

WASHINGTON, March 22 (UPI) -- Freddie Mac on Friday said that long-term mortgage rates rose for the third consecutive week to their highest level of the year. Freddie Mac said the average rate on the 30-year loan to homebuyers rose to 7.14 percent from 7.08 percent last week and the 6.87 percent level lenders were asking two weeks ago.
