HOLLYWOOD, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Anchorman fans delight... because Paramount Pictures will be re-releasing a completely revamped version of Anchorman 2 in theaters next Friday.

Anchorman 2 director Adam McKay tells the New York Times that, "We started talking and realized, we can replace every single movie with another joke."

About 95 percent of the extended cut will be made up of new material, with some parts left in for continuity. The additions had already been filmed, but were cut in the editing process.

The Anchorman 2 re-release will feature around 763 new jokes and McKay says the version will be dirtier, earning an R-rating versus the original Anchorman 2's PG-13. McKay recently joked to BBC about the new version, "If you're a hardcore Anchorman fan, go see this. If you're not, stay very far away."

The new version will be re-released as Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues: Super-Sized R-rated Version and hits around 1,000 select theaters Friday, February 28.
