SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- American freestyle skier Gus Kenworthy won more than silver in Sochi. His plans to adopt a group of stray Russian puppies won plenty of hearts back home, but the 22-year-old singer has his eyes on the nation's rambunctious pop idol du jour.

With a little help from NBC, Kenworthy wrote a Valentine's Day message to Miley Cyrus on Friday.

Cyrus, a noted dog lover, responded by following him on Twitter, then sharing snaps of him cuddling his new pets.

"4 reasons to follow @guskenworthy (❤️ melts into 1,001 pieces)," she tweeted.
