Nancy Motes, Julia Roberts' half sister, found dead of apparent overdose

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Julia Roberts's 37-year-old half sister Nancy Motes was found dead of an apparent drug overdose Sunday.

"It is with deep sadness that the family of Nancy Motes... confirms that she was found dead in Los Angeles yesterday of an apparent drug overdose," read a statement sent by Roberts' rep to E! News. "There is no official report from the Coroner's office yet. The family is both shocked and devastated."

In the wake of events, the August: Osage County actress has decided not to attend Monday's Oscars luncheon to be with family, her rep told E!. Roberts is nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category for the upcoming Academy Awards.

Motes, who reportedly worked as a production assistant for Glee, is survived by fiancé John Dilbeck and other siblings Eric Roberts, 57, and Lisa Roberts Gillan, 48.
