SCARBOROUGH, England, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Humboldt penguins at the Scarborough Sea Life Sanctuary in the United Kingdom are receiving anti-depressants so they can get through this miserable winter.
Humboldt penguins are native to South America and withstand some unpleasant weather, but the staff at the sanctuary say weeks of gusty, cold winds and daily downpours have taken a toll on the animals. Depressed penguins are more susceptible to illness, so they are medicated to keep them healthy.

Humboldt penguins are named after the cold Humboldt current that flows along the coast of North and South America.
