MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Feb. 7 (UPI) -- The Google Doodle on their homepage shows a statement of support for LGBT rights on the opening day of the Olympics.

The image is an illustration of winter athletes set against a rainbow background, the rainbow being a symbol for gay pride. Beneath the image is a quote from the Olympic charter, a code by which the games should be played, "The practice of sport is a human right. Every individual must have the possibility of practicing sport, without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play."

Google declined to comment on the image but would like the image "to speak for itself." Google joins AT&T, Devry University, and Chobhani yogurt in condemning the discriminatory law. AT&T, Devry, and Chobhani are all sponsors of the Olympic games and they all released statements commenting on LGBT rights and the games.
