LOS ANGELES, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- The first trailer for The Fault in Our Stars, a film based on author John Green's bestselling novel of the same name, made its debut Wednesday. The film tells the story of two teenage lovers with cancer.
Hazel Grace Lancaster (Shailene Woodley) and Augustus "Gus" Wates (Ansel Elgort) meet in support group and fall in love. The movie follows the young sweethearts as they deal with their desease and being teenagers in love.
The movie's tagline, "One Sick Love Story" caused quite the controversy when it was revealed in late December. However, the novel's author defended it, explaining that it matched the main character's often dark sense of humor.
Woodley and Elgort also co-star as brother and sister in the upcoming Divergent saga.
The Fault in Our Stars hits theaters Friday, June 6.
