Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg's book Lean In has been picked up for a movie deal by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Sony acquired the rights for Sandberg's book, which was published last March and is meant to inspire women to excel at their workplaces and reach the pinnacle of their industries.

This isn't Sony's first Facebook-themed movie. They also produced the hugely successful The Social Network, which was based on the book The Accidental Billionaires.

It is unclear how involved Sandberg will be with the making of the movie, but her co-writer Nell Scovell is already writing the first draft of the script.

Considering the book doesn't have a narrative and largely consists of advice, anecdotes and analysis from Sandberg, there is a lot of speculation about what form the film could take.
