See the first poster for 'Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1'

Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Okay, so it's not much. But the first poster for Mockingjay Part 1 does give fans a glimpse at the thematic direction for this year's Hunger Games film, which debuts this November.

Unlike posters for the first two films, the series' signature mockingjay symbol has its wings spread wide, a nod to freedom and independence for the districts of Panem.

Lionsgate has chosen to film the next two installments simultaneously, with Mockingjay Part 2 premiering in November 2015.

Director Francis Lawrence told Variety on Wednesday that the next two films will take place in a changed work.

“We are going to new places,” he said. “No one’s ever been to District 13, and we have not really been in much of the Capital, so creating that is the really fun stuff.”
