Four injured workers have been released from hospitals Tuesday morning after surviving an explosion at an industrial plant in Omaha, Neb., Monday.

Police identified one of the two people killed as Keith Everett, 53. The other victim, who, like Everett, was believed to have been killed on the second floor of the International Nutrition plant, has not been identified.

Interim Fire Chief Bernard Kranger said the body of the second victim would be removed from the factory Tuesday in what was expected to be a difficult process thanks to inclement weather and dangerous building conditions.

Of the 38 workers in the building at 10 a.m. Monday, when the explosion occurred, 10 were taken to hospitals, four in critical condition. One firefighter was also injured, treated and released.

Bergan Mercy Medical Center said two of the three workers sent there for treatment had been released, and Nebraska Medical Center said, in addition to treating the firefighter, it has also treated and released two workers.

Kranger said emergency responders were first dispatched to a structure fire with people trapped. A second alarm was later called and the incident declared a "mass casualty event."

“I heard the explosion and stuff started falling, so I ducked for cover," said Nate Lewis, an employee who was inside at the time of the explosion. “It was pitch black in there. All I could see was fire. I had to feel my way out of the place. I couldn’t see anything.”
