Train fire in India kills nine

A fire broke out on an Indian train as it traveled from Mumbai to Dehradun, killing at least nine people on Wednesday.

A fire on the Dehradun Express broke out Wednesday as it traveled from Mumbai to the northern Indian city of Dehradun, killing at least nine people.

The fire started in a second-class coach around 2:30 a.m. local time and spread quickly to two connected coaches.

Western railway spokesman Sharat Chandrayan said that authorities had identified five of the bodies and were keeping the other four bodies at hospital outside Mumbai. No one was seriously injured.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
