Iranian nuclear talks in Geneva described as 'good'

Iranian nuclear negotiations continued in Geneva on December 30 and December 31 with progress described as "good" by Iran's senior nuclear negotiator and concurrence on a January implementation date for the interim nuclear agreement signed in November.

Negotiations between Iran and the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council, along with Germany, resumed Monday and Tuesday in Geneva with the focus on planning the implementation of the November 24 signed interim nuclear agreement.

Iranian nuclear negotiator and Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Seyed Abbas Araqchi speculated that "if the expert-level talks in Geneva go on successfully, the implementation of the Geneva interim nuclear deal will take place later in January."

One day into the two-day talks Araqchi described as "good," he said that the interim deal would be implemented in late January.
