Dec. 25 (UPI) -- The owner of Slick's GoGo Bar in Irvington, N.J., said Wednesday that his 34-year-old son, Pierre Clervoyant Jr., died in a triple homicide at about 12:30 a.m. on Christmas morning.

Pierre Clervoyant Sr., also said 32-year-old bouncer Woodley Daniel was shot and killed.

Authorities said that two men tried to enter the bar, but were asked to step back when Daniel noticed that one of the men had a gun.

“It appears the gunman was trying to enter the bar armed and was stopped by the bouncer,” Chief Anthony Ambrose, of the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, said in a statement.

"They were clearly drunk," Clervoyant Sr., said.

When the younger Clervoyant and two other customers went to help the bouncer, and argument ensued in which the suspect shot and killed Clervoyant and Daniel. His companion, 27-year-old Mushir Cureton, was fatally shot in the scuffle, while two others were wounded.

Police said the gunman fled the scene.
