(UPI) -- Former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl had his first live collaboration with Zac Brown Band Wednesday during the 47th Annual Country Music Association Awards.

Grohl, also known for being the lead singer of Foo Fighters, played the drums on his "Day for the Dead" collaboration with the band.

Brown unveiled that he wanted to work with the rocker while speaking to reporters earlier this year.

"I want to work with Dave Grohl," he said. "Dave Grohl is one of our musical heroes as a band, and he said that he would be interested in doing that, too."

The duo is set to work together again soon with Grohl producing the next Zac Brown Band album.
