(UPI) -- Thomas Robinson, the Portland Trail Blazers power forward, was blazing down Interstate 5 when he got pulled over Friday.

Robinson was pushing the pedal to the metal in his Porsche, driving 107 miles per hour. The speed limit is 55 mph in that area.

An officer “observed a white 2013 Porsche Panamera traveling at a high rate of speed on the freeway,” said Sgt. Pete Simpson of the Portland Police Bureau. “The officer’s LIDAR would clock the vehicle at 107 mph in a 55 mph zone.”

Robinson was cited for a violation of the Basic Rule -- driving faster than 100 mph -- which carries a $1,150 fine.

He tweeted about the ticket on Sunday, saying that he needed to be more cautious.
