(UPI) -- Detroit Lion Louis Delmas decided to give away Mojo, his six-foot-long pet alligator.

Mojo, whom Delmas has had since he was a baby, is now too large to manage. The gator, now 5 years old, was a gift from former Lion Ernie Sims.

The alligator's food intake was also getting harder to keep up with.

"That gator ate my refrigerator dry," Delmas said.

Mojo also scares Delmas' new roommate, teammate Kevin Ogletree. Ogletree was not thrilled with the resident reptile.

"I told him I couldn't stay there with the gator there, so he had to make some adjustments for the New York City kid," Ogletree said.

Now, Delmas has arranged to have Mojo picked up by a local exotic animal shop in hopes of him finding a new place to live.
