(UPI) -- Legendary musician James Taylor has decades of experience under his belt. But the 65-year-old singer-songwriter and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee still managed to mess up on the national stage Thursday night, when he was hired to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" at game 2 of the World Series.

Taylor started off with the first lines of "America the Beautiful" before quickly transitioning to the anthem.
