Pauly D is a dad

DJ Pauly D recently welcomed a baby girl from a short-lived fling in Las Vegas.

(UPI) -- Pauly D, best known for starring in MTV's "Jersey Shore" series, has a baby girl.

"I'm proud I'm a father. I am excited to embark on this new part of my life," the reality TV star and DJ told TMZ.

The 33-year-old Rhode Island native, real name Paul DelVecchio, met the mother of his daughter when he was DJing in Las Vegas. The 26-year-old woman gave birth to a baby girl several months ago and a DNA test confirmed Pauly D's paternity.

A source told E! News that Pauly "is hoping to develop a relationship" with the mother of his first child, though they aren't dating now.
