Neil Patrick Harris, family go Alice in Wonderland for Halloween

(UPI) -- Neil Patrick Harris and his family are famous for their elaborate (and adorable) Halloween costumes, and this year's outfits did not disappoint.

On Sunday, the How I Met Your Mother star shared a family photo featuring their first set of costumes for the season. This year's theme was Alice in Wonderland.

"Our costumes for the Halloween carnival at the kids' preschool yesterday. But 10/31 will be frighteningly different..! @DavidBurtka came up with both themes/costumes. He's amazing," Harris captioned the image.

In the pic, both Harris and fiancée David Burtka are dressed as Tweedledee and Tweedledum while the couple's twins Harper and Gideon star as Alice and the White Rabbit.

Last year, the foursome went with The Wizard of Oz as a theme, and in 2011 the family dressed up as characters from Peter Pan.
