All lanes of Interstate 40 in Jefferson County reopened early Thursday, nearly 15 hours after a crash killed eight people and injured 14 others.
Traffic is now running smoothly at the place where a church bus crashed into a tractor-trailer and an SUV Wednesday afternoon.

The bus was traveling east bound when its front left tire popped, investigators said. The vehicle was then thrown across a median barricade slamming into a tractor-trailer and a Chevrolet Tahoe.
The tractor caught fire and the bus overturned.
Authorities will brief the media on their latest findings on Tuesday at 8 a.m. You can watch live coverage of the briefing here.
