"The Simpsons" is plotting the death of one of its regulars, 14 years after the iconic television show killed off Ned Flanders' wife, Maud.

Though executive producer Al Jean won't say which character will get the axe, he did give fans a single hint.

"I'll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won't say who it is," Jean told The Sun News over the weekend.

A quick IMDB search will tell you that Dan Castellaneta, Hank Azaria, Nancy Cartwright and Yeardley Smith have won Emmy awards for their respective roles as Homer, Apu, Bart and Lisa, and have voiced a variety of the show's large cast of characters.

Also in danger are Anne Hathaway's Princess Penelope, Kelsey Grammer's Sideshow Bob, Jackie Mason's Rabbi Krustofsky, Julie Kavner's Jacqueline Bouvier and Marcia Wallace's Mrs. Krabappel.

Meanwhile, "The Simpson's" 25th season premiered Sunday with a "Homeland" parody.
