CBS hit "NCIS" has cast Emily Wickersham in the role of Bishop, a new special agent with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service who could potentially succeed Ziva, played by the departing Cote de Pablo.

Wickersham is set to appear in a three-episode arc with a series regular option if the character is well-recieved.

A casting notice described the Bishop character as "bright, educated, athletic, attractive, fresh-faced, focused and somewhat socially awkward. She has a mysterious mixture of analytic brilliance, fierce determination and idealism. She’s traveled extensively, but only feels comfortable at home."

Wickersham, who played Rhiannon, A.J.’s girlfriend, in the final season of "The Sopranos" and currently has a recurring role on "The Bridge," will reportedly make her "NCIS" debut in the third episode, in time for November sweeps. Season 11 premieres Tuesday, September 24.
