LeBron James marries high school sweetheart Savannah Brinson

LeBron James started dating Savannah Brinson when the two were 16-year-old high school students more than a decade ago. But the longtime loves finally tied the knot in a star-studded wedding at the Grand Del Mar Hotel in San Diego on Saturday.

Among the weddings guests were Neyo, Beyoncé and Jay Z. Gabrielle Union mentioned on Instagram that she and her boyfriend, James' teammate Dwyane Wade, were attending a wedding, though she wasn't specific about the lucky couple.

James and Brinson have two sons together -- 8-year-old LeBron James, Jr., and 6-year-old Bryce Maximus James.

The 28-year-old Miami Heat star proposed to Brinson at a New Year's Eve party in 2012.

He later told Oprah that proposing to the mother of his children was nerve-wracking. He had Wade hold the $300,000 engagement ring so Brinson couldn't feel it in his pocket.

“I asked him for it right after the ball dropped,” James said. “He was like, ‘You ready?’ I was like, ‘If you don’t give me this ring right now, I ain’t gonna do it.’”
