Robin Quivers, Howard Stern's on air partner, opens up about beating cancer

Radio personality Robin Quivers announced Monday that she has beaten cancer after battling the disease for a year.

During en emotional segment on Howard Stern's Sirius XM show, Quivers explained that the cancer developed from endometrial tissue, which is found in the uterus, and that she underwent treatment last year to overcome it.

According to the 61-year-old, she found out about the cancer after doctors discovered a mass in her pelvis and decided to perform surgery to investigate the situation.

Stern said he was "freaking out" when Quivers told him doctors had found that the tumor was cancerous.

Quivers went on to explain that the tumor was about the size of a grape and that it took doctors some 8 hours to remove it. After the operation, doctors told her they believe she was cancer free.

"I gotta be honest, I thought she was a goner," Stern said while listening to Quivers story.

Quivers, who hasn't been in the studio since last year, said she never felt alone while undergoing treatment because Stern was there for her the entire time.

"Robin means more to me than anything," Stern said. "Seeing her go through this just [expletive] tore me up."
