Janelle Monae is streaming her new album "The Electric Lady" online in its entirety ahead of its September 10 release date.

Following up on 2010's critically acclaimed "ArchAndroid," the singer's second studio album will be the fourth and fifth installment of her seven-part Metropolis concept series and will carry through the themes of a cyborg utopia.

Funk, soul, jazz and gospel contribute to the musical style, produced by Deep Cotton and Roman GianArthur and released through Bad Boy Records.

The opening track "Givin Em What They Love" features Prince, and other collaborators throughout the record include Erykah Badu, Solange and Miguel.
