Wendy Davis poses for Vogue spread

Wendy Davis, the Texas state senator who gained national notoriety filibustering anti-abortion legislation, has posed for a spread in Vogue, shot in the rotunda of the Texas Capitol.

The fashion magazine doesn't just gush over the senator's sartorial choices on the day of her 13-hour filibuster, but it does include her meme-worthy pink sneakers.

The Vogue article will delve into Davis's experience as a young single mother who rose through Harvard Law and went on to become a major voice in politics.

Though her special session filibuster was initially successful amid down-to-the-wire parliamentary controversies, Governor Rick Perry called another special session a week later, and the sweeping abortion restrictions were passed.

Nonetheless, the national attention of Davis's effort have spawned talk of a gubernatorial run, with some strategists saying even a losing campaign from Davis would help the Democratic party in Texas.

Davis, who raised nearly $1 million in the final two weeks of June alone, has also been on a fundraising spree in Washington and elsewhere.

Still, she hasn't committed yet to a run for statewide office. "I’m working very hard to decide what my next steps will be," Davis said.
