An unidentified Walmart liquor store cashier in Neenah, Wisc., was shot Wednesday by a fellow employee, according to authorities. The suspect, a 46-year-old woman from Greenville, was also working in the store at the time.

The 56-year-old victim, currently in critical condition at the hospital, was shot in the torso at 11 am on Wednesday morning.

"We’re still very concerned for the victim,” Police Chief Kevin Wilkinson told reporters. “We’re obviously all hoping and praying for the best for her.”

Authorities booked Justine Boyd on a charge of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, though they were unable to provide any more details about the incident.

“We’re digging around trying to get that information,” he said, “but so far, at least, there hasn’t been a simple explanation. The whole thing is really weird.”

“We are in close contact with [the victim’s] family at the hospital and trying to be as helpful as possible during this difficult time," Walmart said in a statement. "Our commitment right now is to work with law enforcement [to] provide them any information we have that might be useful for their investigation.”
