Bet you never thought you'd see Sean Hannity and Ryan Adams in the same sentence, but the conservative Fox News host and 38-year-old singer-songwriter are trading barbs over the latter's disparaging Twitter comment.

It all started on Monday, when Hannity tweeted about America's disgraced political and athletic role models. Adams responded by calling the 51-year-old commentator a "little chicken man."

Adams, who started his music career with the alt-country group Whiskeytown, shot down Hannity's repeated efforts to confront him on television. "Who is the little chicken man now? A terrorist? Typical liberal, zero substance all name calling. Say it to my face u coward," the conservative host fired back. Hannity was so incensed by Adams refusal to appear on his show that he devoted a three-minute segment on Tuesday to the alt-rocker's "liberal Twitter tirade."

"You probably don't know him, he's not that popular," Hannity said.

"Stop being a wimp. He's hiding behind his rock-star makeup like a little gutless little coward. Say it to my face!" he added later.
