New iPad mini to include retina screen

The latest rumor surrounding which features Apple will or wont add to its upcoming products suggests that the new iPad mini will include a retina screen.

A source close to the matter reportedly told The Wall Street Journal that Apple is planning on releasing a new iPad mini with a retina screen in the fourth quarter of 2013.

Though no further details were given about the new iPad, the source did reveal that it is likely that the tablet will come in multiple colors and that the screen will probably remain the same size as that of the current 7.9-inch model.

Regarding the new retina display screen, Apple is expected to go with Samsung, Sharp and LG as its providers.

News of the new iPad mini comes a day after it was reported that the upcoming iPhone 5s will have fingerprint scanning abilities.
