One Direction's "Best Song Ever" music video has been finally released after weeks of short sneak-peek trailers.

The video stars the 1D members as they take on alter egos to discuss their movie "1D: This Is Us" with the real One Direction members.

Louis Tomlinson plays "Jonny the Studio Exec," a wink at Tom Cruise's "Tropic Thunder" character, Les Grossman. Niall Horan is his business partner, Harvey. Harry Styles wears taped glasses and a nerdy outfit, and Liam Payne is Leeroy the Choreographer.

The star of the video was Zayn Malik dressed as the female "Sexy Assistant." The video is full of pop culture references, including the Village People and Madonna's backup dancers on "Girl Gone Wild."

The single comes before the group's third studio album, which is expected to be released by the end of the year. "1D: This Is Us" opens in theaters Aug. 29.
