At long last, ABC Family has pulled the plug on "Bunheads," the freshman show from Amy Sherman-Palladino set around a ballet studio at the heart of a tiny California town.
"Bunheads is a wonderful series that we are very proud to have aired," ABC Family said in a statement. "The series had amazing storytelling, the most talented cast and a passionate and loyal fan base."
"Recognizing all of this, we took extra time to try and find ways to bring the series back for another season, but in the end it simply wasn't possible," the network said. "We wish the cast and crew the best in their future endeavors."
The quirky comedy's cast, led by Broadway vet Sutton Foster and Sherman-Palladino favorite Emily Bishop mourned the decision after one little-watched but much-loved season.
Thank you all for the love!!! Onwards and upwards!

Sad to say goodbye but happy and thankful to have been a part of Bunheads. Love that cast, crew, & sweet sassy sardonic Sasha of course.
