Following in the missteps of defense lawyer Don West, Olympian Lolo Jones has tweeted joking about the Zimmerman trial.

Jones posted her joke on Twitter, though, where her followers had a direct opportunity to respond.

The athlete was watching the cross-examination of witness Rachel Jeantel as part of the George Zimmerman trial when she compared Jeantel to Tyler Perry's character Madea.

Jones has since deleted the tweet, which said, "Rachel Jeantel looked so irritated during the cross-examination that I burned it on DVD and I’m going to sell it as Madea goes to court.”

Her followers didn't find the Tyler Perry reference as funny as Jones did.

Jones angered her bobsled teammates with a Vine earlier this month, talking about how little she had gotten paid as a bobsledder.
