The shooting took place at about 2:20 p.m. in the rental car garage at Jacksonville International Airport, according to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Chief Tom Hackney.
Jacksonville officials were following the car in question because it was reported stolen early Wednesday. The chase led both officials and the alleged thieves to the parking lot of the airport where several shots were fired before the car got away.
Later that day authorities found the vehicle parked in a an apartment complex. Two men were inside the car including a 27-year-old man who claimed to be the car's owner and a 17-year-old man who had been shot in the ankle.
The two were arrested and authorities are currently looking for a third suspect known to have been in the car. He's been identified as a 20-year-old black male, his name is Rodney Lorenzo Addison.
Hackney urged residents to keep an eye out for Addison.
"This is a dangerous man -- these detectives felt this enough that they used deadly force," he said.
