Michelle Williams showed up at the Kate Young for Target launch in New York City on Tuesday sporting a daring new haircut.

Us Weekly reports, the "Oz the Great and Powerful" actress asymmetrically chopped her blond locks leaving it "short on the right side of her head with a side-swept long fringe that fell over her face."

Williams's new do probably means she has decided to keep her short hair for a little while longer. In February, the Oscar nominated actress told E! News she was planing on letting her hair grow.

"It's on its way, slowly but surely," she told E! adding that the growing-out process is not as easy as it looks. "That's why I've stayed with short hair for so long. . . The mid-stage is insufferable. It's really hard on your self-esteem."

According to Us Weekly, Williams has kept her hair short in honor of her late ex-fiance Heath Ledger.

"I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it," she said in a 2011 interview with ELLE magazine.
