[VIDEO] Jeff Gordon pranks unsuspecting car salesman

By KATE STANTON, UPI.com

A Pepsi MAX ad starring professional race car driver Jeff Gordon as an undercover car buyer has garnered more than 7 million views since Wednesday, though several news outlets pointed out that the whole spot was probably staged.

In the ad, an unsuspecting car salesman offers Gordon -- concealed by fake facial hair and a dowdy suburban wardrobe -- the chance to test drive a 2009 Camaro.

"It’s got some power, so just get a feel for it," the salesman tells Gordon.

But as Jalopnik noted Wednesday, it appears that the ad was almost entirely staged. There are no shots of Gordon driving the car in the video and sources confirmed that racer Brad Noffsinger did most of the stunts. Another source told Jalopnik that "Steve" the salesman was a paid actor.
