Sports fans went ballistic when Los Angeles Clipper DeAndre Jordan utterly dominated Detroit Piston Brandon Knight with a devastating one-handed alley-oop dunk during Sunday night's game in Los Angeles. Words like "obliterated," "flattened," and "destroyed" were used to describe the Jordan's treatment of the 6-foot-3 Knight, who unwisely stepped in to block the "apocalyptic" dunk.

Jordan's impressive feat electrified the Twitterverse -- LeBron James called it the "dunk of the year" -- and social media users fired off a frenzy of jokes at Knight's expense under the hashtag #RIPBrandonKnight:

Knight's Wikipedia page was edited to reflect the embarrassment:
"On March 10, 2013 Knight died in a game vs the Los Angeles Clippers. The cause of death was determined to be DeAndre Jordan."
Knight gamely issued this Twitter response to Jordan's dunk:
It wasn't in the scouting reports that the clippers threw lobs lol
