More than a year after Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher announced their separation, Moore is finally filing divorce papers to move forward with the case.
Moore, 50, had been married to Kutcher, 35, for six years when they split in 2011, after which she struggled though a public meltdown and checked briefly into rehab.
Kutcher filed his own papers in December, and has been dating Mila Kunis for almost a year.
Kutcher's relationship with Kunis, along with difficult, even hostile negotiations over the money he has made as the highest-paid actor on television, prevented the two parties from coming to a settlement.
“After over a year of attempting to reach a settlement, Demi is definitely ready to move on,” a source told Page Six. “It’s hoped lawyers for both sides can reach a settlement this spring, otherwise the divorce will go into litigation and trial.”
