SNL Guy Fieri's response to NYT review is better than real Guy Fieri's response

Last week, the New York Times sent Pete Wells to check out Guy Fieri's new Times Square restaurant.

The results, in the form of one of the more scathing reviews in recent memory, were an instant sensation. Fieri responded in a defensive statement that did little to quell the glee with which we quoted from the review.

"When you hung that sign by the entrance that says, WELCOME TO FLAVOR TOWN!, were you just messing with our heads?"

Saturday Night Live, in a sketch which inexplicably did not make the final cut for air, takes a crack at how Fieri should have responded to the Times.

Bobby Moynihan, doing a better Fieri than Fieri, show up thrilled that the Times had even bothered to review his place.

"No, not yet, Seth," Moynihan tells Weekend Update host Seth Meyers, "but I bet it's off the chain!"

"Oh, you have to read it," Meyers says, sadly.

"Oh, I can't wait! I would love to, Seth! Reading is how the eyes eat!"

Moynihan visibly deflates. "Oh, that's not off the chain. Oh, that's very much on the chain."

Not that he expected the Times to bother to review his restaurant. After all, Times Square isn't really New York.

He also (in another unaired sketch) offers ways to to have a full-throttle T-day. Moynihan's Fieri goes "bezerky for Turkey," and really loves raisins, apparently.
