Researchers know more about our preferences than ever before, thanks to heavy dependence on the Internet and online social networks, and in the final moments of the presidential campaigns, they're applying what they know to politics.
Beer has taken an outsize role in the 2012 election, as has television, with millions spent by both sides on thousands of political ads.
The digital media strategist Engage, through their Trendsetter app, slices and dices the online electorate to determine how people are likely to vote based on what TV shows they watch.
According to their findings, The Newsroom is by far the show most likely to attract Obama voters, followed closely by 30 Rock, Modern Family and Game of Thrones. On the flip side, Deadliest Catch snags the Romney voters, followed by American Pickers and ESPN's College Gameday.
The Newsroom, the politics-heavy Aaron Sorkin-helmed drama, also stands out as the show most likely to indicate high voter turnout, whereas Jersey Shore sinks to the bottom.
