Ominous music. A dramatic voice over. Slick graphics. Soldiers. Smash-cut editing. A close-up of running feet.

Movie trailer, or political attack ad?

The Obama campaign's latest ad targets Mitt Romney's low favorability ratings and comments from advisers and convention "image makers."

Quoting a New York Times piece, crawling across the screen like the opening moments of a Star Wars film, the ad paints Romney's team as desperate to reinvent the image of their candidate.

"He's tried it all, but nothing is working," the narrator intones. "His only hope is a convention reinvention and an Etch-a-Sketch of epic proportions will be shaken to its core."

"On August 30th, Mitt Romney stars in "The Do-Over."

Quotes from fact check pieces are given the classic film festival palm frond treatment, and the whole thing is "Rated N, for Not Gonna Work".
