A pair of New Jersey politicians are enjoying popularity bordering on cult-figure status, but not for the typical reasons.
Newark Mayor Cory Booker made quite the name for himself when, after a huge snowstorm hit the northeast U.S. Christmas week in 2010, he hit the streets to help citizens dig out from under several feet of snow, earning praise as a the "superhero mayor."
And his mystique only increased when, in April, he helped rescue a woman from a burning building, suffering smoke inhalation in the process.
Not to be outdone, Republican Governor Chris Christie, who inspires serious fan-boy and fan-girl behavior and presidential fantasies from conservatives, has teamed up with the Democratic Booker to produce a parody video. Christie is a popular pick to be presumed presidential nominee Mitt Romney's running mate.
