Dwayne Johnson producing Disney theme park docuseries

June 7 (UPI) -- Disney+ and The Nacelle Company announced the docuseries Behind the Attraction on Monday. Dwayne Johnson, who stars in the movie adaptation of Jungle Cruise, is an executive producer via his Seven Bucks Productions with Dany Garcia.

The Toys That Made Us and The Movies That Made Us creator Brian Volk-Weiss directs the 10 episode series. Paget Brewster narrates the series.

Behind the Attraction will profile 10 famous Disney theme park attractions from how Disney Imagineers invented them through how the attractions evolved over decades at the theme parks. Episodes will include Space Mountain, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Star Tours, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, The Castles, Disneyland Hotel, "It's a small world", Hall of Presidents and Trains, Trams and Monorails.

The episodes cover Disney park history since the 1950s, including recent Star Wars and Marvel rebrandings. The Nacelle Company promises never-before-scene footage and rare interviews with Walt Disney himself throughout the series.

Episodes will also include interviews with Imagineers who worked on the rides including Bob Weis, Jeanette Lomboy, Kim Irvine, Scott Trowbridge, Tom Fitzgerald, Scot Drake, Carmen Smith and Joe Rohde.

The series will premiere July 16.
