Reports: Nick Nolte joins 'Mandalorian' ensemble

Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Actor Nick Nolte has joined the ensemble of the live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian.

The Hollywood Reporter and Variety reported the casting news, but said no details are available regarding who Nolte will play on the Disney+ drama.

Game of Thrones alum Pedro Pascal is to play the lead in the show, and The Jungle Book and Iron Man filmmaker Jon Favreau is writing and producing the project.

The Mandalorian will take place between the films, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The program's title refers to those from the planet of Mandalore, the home world of bounty hunters Jango Fett and his son Boba Fett.

Nolte's credits include Graves, Gracepoint, Luck, The Prince of Tides, 48 Hours, Down and Out in Beverly Hills and Cape Fear.
