The Mandalorian is set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. The program's title refers to those from the planet of Mandalore, the home world of bounty hunters Jango Fett and his son Boba Fett.

Disney released the first photo from the series in October, featuring a character that is wearing armor similar to the kind worn by Jango and Boba Fett.

Game of Thrones and Narcos star Pedro Pascal is reportedly up for the lead role in The Mandalorian.
